Murakami Craftsmanship – Non-Slip Finish
A symbol of longevity and prosperity, the pine tree is revered in Japan for its ability to live far beyond a human lifespan.
It embodies quiet strength, dignity, and the flourishing of future generations.
Le Murakami Kibori Tsuishu is a traditional Japanese craft that combines delicate wood carving with the application of urushi lacquer, highlighting the raised reliefs of the design.
Beyond the classic red finish (tsuishu), there are also versions in black (tsuikoku) and deep translucent red lacquer (shu-dame).
Among the most iconic patterns are angular geometric motifs such as the raimon (thunder pattern), famed for its protective qualities.
Today, lucky symbols like the pine, crane, and carp are also highly cherished.
